I've had about 5 different paddles...this [Oculus LX] is the first paddle that provided more spin and more pop than any other one I've had. My background is tennis and table tennis. The paddle shape matches those sports and it required little adjustment time to use. Good sweet spot, it could always be bigger, but it's as good as any I've found. I'm happy!
Researched and played with a number of paddles. This Occulus XT has been by far the best for me. I like that it has a more racquet-like shape (resulting in, at least for me, a larger sweet spot across the paddle face) and the dampening feature. After purchase I tried quite a few other paddles but kept coming back to this one. Am buying a few more just to have on hand. I think any level player would like this paddle. I also ordered it in the smaller grip size which, as it turns out, I quite like. I am using the middle weight.
I have been using my Tantrum GXT paddle now for over 2 years. It has been a literal blessing! First off the make-up of the paddle takes enormous stress off my elbow is it seems to suck in the impact rather than sending it down my arm. The paddle also works great for my control game as I am not a banger. Great for beginners and pro's alike! I will be back to buy again! TY
If you want a weapon and not just a paddle then the Tantrum LX is for you! Well balanced, the Tantrum LX plays both soft when you need it to and has the attacking pop when the opportunity presents itself. The Tantrum LX gives me the confidence to be the predator and not the prey.
The [Ascend XT] longer handle allows me reach when needed and the surface adds pop and zip to my wrist action strokes, especially my backhand.
The GXT Series is the ultimate control package for the player that can provide most of their own power. Soft as butter in both aggressive and soft play.
